ELECTRIC RICE COOKER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric rice cooker in which cooked rice is heat- retained and prevented from sticking to the bottom or the peripheral side surface of an inner pan while excessive water is being released as in a wooden rice tub. SOLUTION: The electric rice cooker 10 is provided with an inner basket 20 having a metal meshed basket 20b which is used so as to be stored in the inner pan 30 in contact therewith. The inner basket 20 is mounted within the inner pan 30, and rice and water are placed therein for rice cooking. When the rice is cooked, the inner basket 20 storing the cooked rice are slightly lifted from the inner pan 30 manually or with a spring mechanism or the like provided within a lid, and is held in this position. Thus, steam flows in a space between the inner basket 20 and the inner pan 30, so that ventilation is caused and a heat-retaining state as similar as that in the wooden rice tub is realized.
