ROTATING DRUM DEVICE AND METHOD FOR ADJUSTING AXIAL PERPENDICULARITY THEREOF

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely adjust axial perpendicularity of a support, the center of rotation in rotating drums, in rotary drum devices used in video tape recorders and tape streamers. SOLUTION: A fixed drum 4 comprises a boss part 10 holding a rotation shaft 2 of the rotating drum 1, a mounting reference plane 4a for mounting the rotation shaft 2 in a prescribed posture on a fixed drum 4, ring-shaped groove parts 11 and 12 which are concentric with the boss part 10 and located adjacent to the boss part 10, and adjust the tilts of the boss part 10 and rotation shaft 2 supported by the boss part 10, with at least one place deformed plastically. By this, it is possible to adjust the tilting of the rotation shaft 2 for every angle, without controlling the rotational phase of the fixed drum 4. The ring- shaped groove parts 11 and 12 reduce the rigidity between the reference plane 4a and the boss part 10, and accordingly the influence of the plastic deformation on the reference plate 4a and the outer circumference can be restrained.
