DEVICE FOR IDENTIFYING EDGE OF SHEET LIKE PRINTING MATERIAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved edge detecting device of sheet like printing material which can identify at least one edge of it whether it is a transparent sheet like printing material or non-transparent sheet like printing material. SOLUTION: In this edge identifying device of the sheet like printing material (1), the sheet like printing material is moved on a conveying path by a sheet paper processing printer, it has a beam transmitter (31), a beam receiver (32) and an electronic circuit (36), a beam path is arranged on the side of the conveying path different from the beam transmitter (31) and the beam receiver (32) so that the beam path forms a flat angle against the surface of the sheet like printing material, and the electronic circuit (36) has a slight gap toward the conveying path in the device in the form evaluating a beam received by the beam receiver (32), compared to the beam transmitter (31).
