DEVICE FOR DESCALING HOT-ROLLED STEEL STRIP

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a material having an excellent surface property by cold- rolling under high pressure before pickling a hot-rolled steel strip to which scales adhere. SOLUTION: After applying tensile force to the hot-rolled steel strip 1 to which scales adhere by a leveller 4 or a skin pass roll, cold-rolling under high pressure by a cold-rolling mill 5 is performed and the steel strip is transferred to a pickling bath 11 through brushing 5 and spray treatment 6 if necessary. Accordingly, when the hot-rolled steel strip 1 to which tensile force is applied is transferred to the cold rolling mill 5, cracks tend to occur on a scale layer at the time of engaging with work rolls, and the absorption property of the rolling oil is improved to lower a friction coefficient. As a result, the hot-rolled steel strip is rolled under high pressure in a stable conditions so that the peeling- off of scales is expedited. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
