Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a liquid crystal display device having excellent display performance, a wide visual field angle, a high aperture ratio and high fineness by solving the problem with an IPS system liquid crystal display device that the leakage of light caused between scanning wiring and pixel electrodes by an electric field having no relation with a display is a major cause for the degradation in the aperture ratio. SOLUTION: The IPS system liquid crystal display device is arranged with shielding electrodes having the same potential as the potential of the pixel electrodes in parallel with the scanning wiring so as to align the direction of the electric field generated between the same and the scanning wiring to the initial orientation direction of liquid crystals.
