Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a substrate for a liquid crystal display of a CF-on-TFT structure on which a color filter is formed on the side of an array substrate where a switching element is formed and which has high reliability and can simplify a manufacturing process typified by a photolithographic process. SOLUTION: The substrate is constituted to include external terminals which includes first terminal electrodes 52a which are electrically connected to gate bus lines 6 led out from a plurality of pixel regions P arranged in a matrix form on a glass substrate 3, second terminal electrodes 52b which are formed directly on the substrate 3 and formed of forming material of the pixel electrodes, and electrode coupling regions 52c for electrically connecting the first and second electrodes 52a and 52b, and which electrically connect an external circuit and the gate bus lines 6.
