Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glass plate which is easily tempered even in the case of a plate thickness of the order of 2-3 mm, and a tempering method for glass plate. SOLUTION: In this tempering method for glass plate having 2-3 mm thickness, the average linear thermal expansion coefficient in 50-300°C is ≥88×10-7/°C and the softening point is 715-740°C. Therein, the glass plate is cooled from a cooling starting temperature at which the viscosity is in the range of 109-1010poise to a temperature at which the viscosity comes to 1012poise in such a manner that the heat transfer coefficient h (W/m2K) satisfies the following inequalities (1) or (2), wherein, t (mm) denotes the thickness of glass plate: h>4970.5-3149.9t+550.3t2...(1), h>2123.6t-1.4641...(2).
