STRUCTURE OF LIGHTING SYSTEM OF ENDOSCOPE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure of lighting system of an endoscope having superior durability preventing thermal degradation of an incident end part of a plastic fiber for lighting even with temperature abnormality and heat radiation abnormality in a light guide connecter. SOLUTION: This lighting system for the endoscope uses the plastic fiber 7 as irradiation light transmission means and the incident end part of the plastic fiber 7 is inserted and disposed in a metal light guide connecting cylinder 8 to be insertion-connected to a light source device. At least, in the inside of the light guide connecting cylinder 8, a nonmetallic protecting tube 10 having higher heat resistance than that of the plastic fiber 7 covers over the plastic fiber 7.
