Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an advanced resin using a catalyst that is highly activated and highly selective to the reaction of a reactive hydrogen atom with an epoxide, and can be easily deactivated. SOLUTION: The method for producing the advanced resin comprises reacting a reaction mixture consisting of one or more compounds having more than one vicinal epoxide groups in average per molecule and a compound having more than one and not more than two hydrogen atoms that are reactive with the epoxide groups in average per molecule, in the presence of a specific phosphonium catalyst.
