METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR IMPREGNATING LONG FIBER BUNDLE WITH RESIN, AND LONG-FIBER-REINFORCED RESIN MOLDED BODY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for impregnation with a resin which impregnate a long fiber bundle with a resin solution simply and excellently and an excellent long-fiber-reinforced resin molded body wherein the resin is dispersed sufficiently in the long fibers. SOLUTION: While the long fiber bundle W is passed through an impregnation passage 4 surrounded by a passage forming wall surface, the resin solution is supplied into the impregnation passage 4 at the middle part thereof in the direction of advance of the bundle W and the bundle W is impregnated with the resin solution. In this method, the resin solution is mixed with a compressed gas and supplied. After the resin solution is supplied, the compressed gas making the long fiber bundle W impregnated further with the resin solution is jetted on the downstream side in the direction of advance of the bundle W in the impregnation passage 4. The apparatus for impregnation with the resin is equipped with a material supply means 5 so constituted as to supply the resin solution, mixing with the compressed gas.
