CABLE MODEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cable MODEM provided with a bridge without deteriorating the quality of real time data to the utmost by discriminating a type of uplink frame data transferred from an information communication terminal of a customer premise network to a CATV network and a type of downlink frame data transferred from the CATV network to the customer premise network and bridging the frame data according to the results of discrimination and in compliance with transfer rules set in advance by a subscriber. SOLUTION: The cable MODEM is provided with: a transfer rule storage means that stores a MAC (Media Access Control) address of an information communication apparatus possessed by the subscriber, the kind of data processed by the information communication apparatus, and bridge rules with respect to a MAC frame or the like; a transfer rule setting means to set the bridge rules stored in the transfer rule storage means by the subscriber; and a MAC frame precedence control means that controls transmission/reception of the MAC frame in compliance with the bridge rules stored in the transfer rule storage means.
