FREQUENCY SYNCHRONIZATION METHOD AND OFDM RECEIVER USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a frequency synchronization method and a receiver using the method in which the estimation error of frequency offset can be reduced by providing a wide frequency synchronized pull-in range. SOLUTION: On the side of transmitting, a preamble repeating a plurality of fixed signal sequences is transmitted and on the side of receiving, the device is applied to an OFDM transmission system for correcting frequency offset on the basis of the received signal of the preamble transmitted from the transmitting side for establishing frequency synchronization. A plurality of error signals having different synchronized pull-in frequency ranges and frequency offset estimation accuracy are generated from the fixed signal sequence for synchronization in the received signal and by comparing the levels of these signals and deciding whether each of levels is positive or negative, the error signal to be used for estimating frequency offset is selected.
