Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a front light having functions such as protection function, antireflection function, pen touch input function, etc., without impairing the performance, such as brightness. SOLUTION: The front light for a liquid crystal display including a light guide member having a prism array structure formed like saw teeth on one surface and capable of emitting light from the other surface and a light source disposed on at least one end face of this light guide member is formed by coating the surface of the prism array structure with a functional transparent member having at least one function among the protection function, antireflection function and touch panel function of the prism array by bringing this function surface to the other side.
