Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steel sheet conveying device which can drop a traveling steel sheet freely without bringing it in contact with a stopper when stacking it on a steel sheet stack in a stacker through dropping. SOLUTION: The steel sheet S is moved along a stator of a linear motor as a rotor of the linear motor, positioned and controlled by driving control of the linear motor and conveyed to a predetermined position. A speed/position controller 15 is provided for calculating a speed command of the linear motor and outputting it to the vector control inverter 24, by feeding back speed signals of the linear motor stator 14 arranged on a conveying path of the steel sheet S, a vector control inverter 24 supplying power to the linear motor stator 14 and the steel sheet S.
