PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chair capable of being placed near a wall. SOLUTION: The chair (1) has an outside frame (2), a seat part (4) and a backrest part (3). The seat part (4) is able to be shifted from a basic position where the seat part (4) does not project at all or projects slightly from a front edge of the outside frame (2) to a comfort or reclining position. In the comfort or reclining position, the front end of the seat part (4) projects from the front edge of the outside frame (2) and an under end of the backrest part (3) facing toward a rear end of the seat part (4) is pivotally set to a rear end of the seat part (4). Thereby, when the seat part (4) is shifted from the basic position to the comfort or reclining position, the back part (3) can be shifted together. When the backrest part (3) can be forcedly shifted from the basic position where the backrest part (3) relatively steeply stands to the comfort or reclining position with a gradual inclination to the basic position, an under end of the backrest part (3) is forcedly guided by a first linearly guiding part (7) fixedly provided on the outside frame (2) in a second pivotally setting range (6).
