Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a related apparatus for removing the spinal cord of a cow in treating beef capable of surely removing the spinal cord as a specific hazardous site for BSE at low cost in a short time, thus preventing the beef from contamination in dismantling the cow. SOLUTION: This method for removing the spinal cord of a cow in treating beef through halving the slaughtered cow and cutting it to carcass comprises the following practice: prior to the halving operation after excising the head, an air tube 6 is inserted from the cervical vertebrae 8 side into the spinal hole and injected with compressed air from its feed source to discharge the spinal cord as the specific hazardous site for BSE via the cervical vertebrae 8 side by the aid of the injection force of the compressed air.
