| Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lower a manufacture cost by lowering member costs and simplifying a method for connection between a single-mode fiber and an optical waveguide. SOLUTION: By the method for connection between the optical fiber fixed to a cylindrical ferrule and the optical waveguide formed on a flat plate type substrate, the connection is made by using the cylindrical ferrule having a flat surface formed along its length or in parallel to the center axis of the ferrule. It is recommended that an end surface of the ferrule and the flat surface formed on the ferrule are crossed at right angles. |
