METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR ACCELERATING DETERIORATION IN PAINT FILM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for accelerating deterioration in the paint film of a paint film-testing material using various kinds of bases by a simple operation in a shorter time than an outdoor exposure test and the conventional acceleration exposure test. SOLUTION: In paint film deterioration acceleration treatment using the paint film deterioration-accelerating apparatus TR, a paint film-testing sample 3 where a paint film is formed on the surface of a base is arranged between a discharge electrode 1 and a counter electrode 2. Then, a pulse high voltage having a narrow pulse width is applied between the discharge electrode 1 and the counter electrode 2, thus generating a plasma active atmosphere by conjuring up corona discharge under normal temperature/normal pressure between both the electrodes. Deterioration in a surface luster value, hue, and the like in a paint film is accelerated by the plasma active atmosphere. The paint film-testing sample 3 is arranged on the counter electrode 2 via a dielectric plate 4, thus preventing spark discharge from being generated.
