Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide liquid crystal polymer microcapsules which exhibits phase behavior of a thermotropic liquid crystal in a polymer phase due to phase separation of the polymer and the liquid crystal, furthermore, which can be used as a visually effective additive for a cosmetic composition because a visual effect of the liquid crystal can be directly visually confirmed and, at the same time, of which the active component is stabilized by making the liquid crystal contain another functionally active component and a method for manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the thermotropic liquid crystal polymer capsules comprises a step to dissolve the thermotropic liquid crystal and monomer in a solvent and subsequently to add an initiator (1), a step to emulsify the solution obtained in the step (1) in an aqueous phase in the presence of a dispersion stabilizer (2) and a step of obtain the thermotropic liquid crystal polymer capsules by suspension polymerization of the emulsion of the step (2) in the presence of a polymerization retarder (3).
