Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a capacitance diagnosing method for a backup capacitor capable of diagnosing its capacitance accurately. SOLUTION: A voltage Vup for charging the backup capacitor is boosted (Time t2) to a level higher than a voltage at a normal time. After a lapse of a certain specified time, the backup capacitor is discharged with an approximately constant current (Time t3). Measurement is made for the discharging time Td required for the terminal voltage of the backup capacitor to drop by a specified voltage in the process of discharging the backup capacitor. On the basis of Td, it is determined whether the capacitance of the backup capacitor is normal or not.
