CONFERENCE SYSTEM AND ITS METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a conference system which is especially used for TV conference systems or telephone conference systems with still picture images and realizes a handling convenience equivalent to that of the TV conference system transferring moving pictures in time by giving changes to the still picture images and besides new additional functions different from the conventional ones. SOLUTION: The conference system executing over a network comprises a picture processing means for positioning pictures of the displayed participants, based on picture still data of displayed conference participants sent to a remote spot, and a means for transmitting positioning information thereof to a conference system at the remote point by an input unit just when each of speakers speaks. The system at the remote side gives changes to corresponding picture region portions of the picture still data of the displayed conference participants at the remote side displayed on a display, based on transmitted positioning identification data information, thereby making the speaker identifiable easily.
