CACHE CONTROL PROGRAM AND COMPUTER FOR PERFORMING CACHE PROCESSING

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain a high cache hit rate even when a large capacity file access occurs. SOLUTION: Wether or not transfer data designated by a data reading request and data following the transfer data are stored in a cache region 2 constituted of a plurality of blocks is judged (a step S1). Those blocks are ranked according to the order of reuse, and the storage block of non-stored data which are not stored in the cache region 2 is preferentially decided from the block whose rank of the order of reuse is high (a step S2). Then, non-stored data in a storage device 1 are successively transferred to the storage blocks (a step S3), and the transfer data are read in a prescribed storage region (a step S4). The continuity of the transfer data and the data transferred before is judged, and in the case of a series of continuous data, the rank of the order of reuse of the block where a prescribed amount of data from the leading of the series of continuous data are stored is decreased (a step S5).
