Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information transmission system through a network. SOLUTION: The system transmits information through a network which comprises synchronous channel and asynchronous channel. It is provided with an extractor which extracts the program stream read out of a recording medium, a transmission format converter which converts the program stream to a transmission stream, and an output unit which transmits the converted transmission stream through the network. The sub-picture information and the navigation information in the transmission stream are transmitted through the asynchronous channel.
