OPTICAL DISK REPRODUCING DEVICE AND MIRROR SURFACE DETECTING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk reproducing device and a mirror surface detecting method, capable of easily and quickly detecting the mirror surface. SOLUTION: The optical disk reproducing device 1 is furnished with an optical pickup 2 for irradiating the optical disk 1 by a reading light and receiving a reflected light of the reading light to output an RF signal, a mirror surface and focus OK detecting part 4 for detecting the mirror surface and the focus error on the basis of the RF signal, and the like. The mirror surface and focus OK detecting part 4 is provided with an amplitude detecting circuit 22 for detecting whether an amplitude of the RF signal is equal to or smaller than the preliminarily set width, or not, and a level detecting circuit 23 for detecting whether a peak level of the RF signal is equal to or higher than the preliminarily set level, or not.
