SURFACE STRUCTURE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface structure free from dusting, good to drain and hard to solidify. SOLUTION: The surface structure 1 on which people walk or exercise comprises lower layer roadbeds 2, 3, a base mat 4 arranged on the lower layer roadbeds 2, 3 and having a base surface 5 containing a pile portion 6 consisting of a number of elastic rising elements having water permeable micropores but being hardly permeable to predetermined-size particles and rising from the base surface 5 up to a given height in accordance with a regularly certain pattern, and a predetermined-size particle material such as garnet sand 7 filled in the base mat 4 in a range to a top surface 8 of the base mat 4. The elastic rising elements 6 improve the cushioning performance of the base mat 4 and give oscillation to the particle material 7 therearound each time they are stepped on and deflected, to prevent the solidification thereof.
