DEVICE FOR PRODUCING HOLLOW PAPER FIBER AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING HOLLOW PAPER FIBER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for producing a hollow paper fiber, and a method for producing the hollow paper fiber. SOLUTION: This device for producing the hollow paper fiber has a support base for supporting a roll-like paper tape wound in a roll-like shape, a paper tape-pulling means for pulling out the inner end of the roll-like paper tape from the roll-like paper tape loaded on the support base in the axial direction of the roll-like paper tape, a fiber-winding means on which the hollow paper fiber formed by pulling out the roll-like paper tape with the paper tape-pulling means and then twisting the roll-like paper tape is wound, and a paper fiber thickness-reducing means for reducing the thickness of the hollow paper fiber to a desired thickness. The paper tape-pulling means is formed from a deflection means for directing the hollow paper fiber from the paper fiber thickness- reducing means to the hollow paper fiber. The deflection means has a powered deflection roller. A groove formed so as not to collapse the hollow form of the hollow paper fiber is formed on the outer circumferential portion of the deflection roller.
