Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of growth inhibition of microorganisms and a method for sterilizing the microorganisms, against slime-forming microorganisms attached on the flouting microorganisms and the surface of a solid in water, and further microorganisms surrounded by the slime in water systems such as various industrial process water, cooling water, or washing water. SOLUTION: This method of growth inhibition of microorganisms and the method for sterilizing the microorganisms, are provided by using (A) a halogenated hydantoin expressed in the general formula (1) (wherein, R , R are each the same or different and at least one of them is Cl or Br, and another is any of Cl, Br or H; R , R are each the same or different and H or a 1-12C alkyl) and (B) an alkylketene dimmer expressed by the formula (2) (wherein, R , R are each a straight chain or branched 12-22C alkyl or alkenyl) and/or its hydrolysate as a combination.
