Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the processing speed when a high temperature heat treated article is carried in the vacuum by enhancing the cooling performance of the article being carried thereby shortening the cooling time. SOLUTION: In the method being applied to a carrying system (10) for carrying a high temperature article being carried (20) through a vacuum carrying passage (30) in order to cool the article being carried, cooling gas is jetted to the article being carried (20) under a state where the inner pressure of the carrying passage (30) is raised closely to a specified level lower than the atmospheric pressure thus cooling the article being carried (20). Inner pressure of the carrying passage (30) is preferably raised to 100 Pa or above and nitrogen gas is preferably employed as the cooling gas.
