Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a V-ribbed belt which has improved strength of a joint portion and can prevent noise generation due to sticking even in back face driving. SOLUTION: The V-ribbed belt 51 comprises a bonding rubber 53 having core wires 52 buried therein along the longitudinal direction of the belt, and a compressed rubber layer 54 having a plurality of ribs 57 elongated in the peripheral direction of the belt. A canvas formed into a cylindrical shape having a required peripheral length is used as a cover canvas 55 to be laminated on the back face of the belt 51 by fusion-cutting the neighborhood of the end portion of the laminated canvas processed by resorcinol-formalin-latex treatment, while bonding the end portion by the thermocompression bonding method by ultrasonic vibration.
