Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a buffer unit and an image forming apparatus using the buffer unit by storing jammed sheets inside without pulling them out to thereby reduce jam process time and increase productivity. SOLUTION: A stack tray 600 is located under a reversing unit 250 in the buffer unit 100 for conveying sheets S discharged from the apparatus body 30 to a post-treatment apparatus 20. When the sheets S are jammed in the buffer unit, the jammed sheets are sent into the stack tray 600.
