BEARING SYSTEM OF ROLL PROCESSING MACHINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To assure the uniformity of processing of the overall width of the processing surface of a roll processing machine. SOLUTION: The roll processing machine composed of a pair of pressing rolls is provided with backup rolls. The backed up rolls are set up so that the rolls can move freely in the directions of the pressing loads of the bearings of the rolls, and that the pressing loads are not applied on the bearings. The deformation directions of the rolls conform to the deformation directions of other rolls. Moreover, the deformation amounts of both groups of the rolls are equalized as much as possible. Thus, the uniformity is assured in the overall width of the processing surface of the roll processing machine. And also the uniformity of the processing can be improved in full width by controlling the pressing load with an intergradation control mechanism to control the movements in the pressing load directions of the bearings of the backed up rolls.
