SOLUTION: The magnetoresistance effect element comprises a magnetoresistance effect film (3), a pair of electrodes (2a, 2b) for energizing a current in a direction substantially perpendicular to the surface of the film (3), and a pair of bias application films (4, 4) for applying a bias magnetic field in a direction substantially parallel to the surface of the film (3).
