Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a time-resolved spectrometer for terahertz (THz) electromagnetic waves enabling so-far impossible time-resolved measurement in saturation spectroscopy by amplifying THz pulse waves projected upon or emitted by a specimen for improvement on the signal/noise ratio. SOLUTION: The spectrometer comprises a pulse laser source, means for branching the laser beam, means for delaying the beam in one of branched optical paths, means for generating THz pulse waves in synchronization with the beam in the branched or delayed 1st path, means for amplifying the thus- generated pulse waves, means for controlling amplitude in the means for amplification, arrangement for projecting the pulse waves on the specimen, means for combining the light in the branched or delayed 2nd path and the light emitted by the specimen, and a means for converting the combined light into electric signals.
