Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition for a recording material which is excellent in dispersion properties of a white pigment and high in printing density due to high ink absorbency, is clear, and is excellent in resolution. SOLUTION: In the composition, a water-soluble surfactant composition which contains at least one selected from (A) acetylene glycol and ethoxylated acetylene glycol or at least one selected from (C) the alkylene oxide adducts of acetylene glycol, and (B) at least one of polyoxyalkylene alkyl ethers, and has an contact angle after 30 s from the dropping of the aqueous solution of 0.1 wt.% of the composition of 40 deg. or below and dynamic surface tension at 1 Hz and 10 Hz of 50 mN/m or below, is added to the white pigment 1-20 μm in average particle size.
