Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a planar lighting device enabled to improve a lighting efficiency, and to restrain the generation of dark line and unevenness of brightness. SOLUTION: Notches 23, 24 are formed to one end part 6 and the other end part 7 of a light guide body 5A respectively, and an LED 16 is fitted to the notch 23 and an LED 17 is fitted to the notch 24. The LED's 16, 17 are positioned to the light guide body 5A by fitting to the notches 23, 24. As the LED's 16, 17 are directly positioned to the light guide body 5A without using frame or housing, the positioning of the LED's 16, 17 is surely carried out with high accuracy. Since the positioning of the LED's 16, 17 is can surely be carried out with high accuracy, the generation of light leakage is restrained and lighting efficiency is improved, and the generation of dark line and unevenness of brightness are effectively restrained.
