Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing bisphenol with high space-time yield and high selectivity by using an acid catalyst in the presence of a cocatalyst including sulfur, and to provide the products which can be supplied to a purification process without an expensive processing. SOLUTION: This method includes a process reacting at least a first reactant selected from a first group comprising phenol and substituted phenols and at least a second reactant selected from a second group comprising ketones and diols, in the presence of the hydrogen chloride catalyst and a volatile sulfur compound including SH linkage as the cocatalyst. The reaction produce is a mixture of bisphenol, the first reactant and the second reactant. The catalyst, cocatalyst and water as the reaction product are separated by distillation. |
