Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a secondary sodium battery which is preferable to a power storage unit, an electric car or the like and is easy to connect in series by stacking. SOLUTION: The secondary sodium battery includes a negative electrode chamber 4 containing liquid sodium 7, a positive electrode chamber 5 containing an active material 9 for the positive electrode, and a solid electrolyte plate 1 of a flat plate which separates the negative electrode chamber 4 and the positive electrode chamber 5, wherein a part of the negative electrode chamber 4 or the positive electrode chamber 5 is placed outside an end of the solid electrolyte plate 1.
