Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-based lubricant having high lubricity and favorable in terms of wastewater treatment as well. SOLUTION: This water-based lubricant or lubricating oil essentially comprises a suspension or aqueous solution which is prepared by dispersing or solubilizing in water a water-insoluble polyoxyalkylene compound having in the molecule at least one primary amino group with an organic carboxylic acid or a salt thereof; wherein the polyoxyalkylene compound is preferably shown by the general formula (I): R -[-O-(AO)a -R -NH2 ]b (where, R is a residue resulted from eliminating a hydroxy group from a monool or polyol; R is an alkylene group; AO is an oxyalkylene group; (a) is >=1; and b is the number identical with that of the hydroxy groups in R ).
