Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a member capable of effectively preventing attachment of marine organisms, etc., without polluting the sea. SOLUTION: This member for preventing the attachment of the marine organisms is obtained by spraying zinc on the surface of a metal base material plate 2, forming a zinc sprayed layer 3 and irregularly spraying and forming silver particles 4 having a noble potential relatively to the zinc in the dotted form on the surface of the zinc sprayed layer 3. The coverage of the silver particles 4 is 5-50%, preferably 10-30% based on the surface area of the zinc sprayed layer and the silver particles 4 are formed so as to provide dotted particles having 0.01-1 mm, preferably about 0.1 mm diameter. The resultant platy member is dipped in seawater to thereby form a local battery 5 of the zinc sprayed layer 3 and the silver particles 4. The attachment of the marine organisms to the surface of the platy member is prevented by electrochemical sterilizing actions with a microcurrent in the zinc sprayed layer 3.
