PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide recording device/system, where a group name and a track name are easily registered at the time of dubbing information from CD to MD and a track (music) dubbed from CD can automatically be grouped. SOLUTION: A system controller 3 accesses a database 5 and obtains the title name of CD reproduced in a CD block 1 and a music name at the time of dubbing from CD to MD. The controller makes the obtained music name correspond to music (information) reproduced from CD and recorded in MD and records it in UTOC of MD as the track name of the pertinent track. Track numbers from a start track to an end track, where music reproduced from CD is recorded, are set to be one group, and group information where the group name of the group is set to be the obtained title name is given to an MD block 2 and is dubbed in the text area of UTOC of MD.
