DEVICE AND METHOD FOR DETECTING MOVING OBJECT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and quickly find the contour of a moving object. SOLUTION: A first storage means 3 stores image data for one picture as preceding frame data. A second storage means 5 stores image data following the preceding frame data stored in the first storage means 3 as following frame data. A differential evaluation operating means 7 extracts a plurality of block data composed of a plurality of pixel data from any one of the frame data and operates the differential evaluation with the other correspondent frame data by blocks for each block. On the basis of the differential evaluation by blocks of each of block data, a block to be extracted is determined by an extract block determination means 9. A basic data storage means 13 stores a plurality of pixel data of the extracted block as contour base data. On the basis of a plurality of contour base data, the contour of the moving object is determined as a moving feature amount of the moving object by a feature amount determination means 15.
