Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method, a server and a program for supporting commodity selection by which information on a commodity owned by a commodity user can be effectively used for selecting commodities by displaying the information so that the information and the image of a commodity can be contrasted and to provide and a recording medium with the program recorded thereon. SOLUTION: The commodity selection supporting method for supporting the selection of commodities suitable for the commodity user by using a computer, has owned commodity information acquisition steps (S100 and S101) for acquiring the image information of the commodity owned by the commodity user, a purchase desired commodity information acquisition step (S102) for acquiring the image information of a purchase desired commodity desired to purchase by a commodity purchaser, and compared result presentation steps (S103-S105) for comparing the image information of the owned commodity with the image information of the purchase desired commodity and presenting the compared result to the commodity purchaser.
