Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an alkoxybenzaldehyde from an alkoxybenzene in a high yield at a low cost. SOLUTION: This method for producing the alkoxybenzaldehyde represented by the general formula (2) [R is a 1 to 6C saturated or unsaturated alkyl; (n) is an integer of 1 to 5] comprises reacting an alkoxybenzene represented by the general formula (1) with a dialkylformamide in the presence of one or more compounds selected from phosgene, phosphorus oxychloride and thionyl chloride in one or more solvents selected from benzene, alkylbenzenes, alkyl ethers, hydrocarbons and esters.
