Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an optical fiber for UV transmission which largely suppresses the progress of deterioration due to UV. SOLUTION: A quartz-base optical fiber preform 1 formed in such a way as to impart UV resistance is heated and drawn to an optical fiber body 2 (drawing step A) and the optical fiber body 2 after drawing is heated at a heating temperature between room temperature and the drawing temperature (heating step B) so that the temperature drop of the optical fiber body 2 is made slower than a temperature drop due to spontaneous cooling at room temperature to obtain the objective optical fiber F for UV transmission.
