Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and method for controlling an X-ray source, capable of controlling a radiation dose to a region of interest to a more proper quantity. SOLUTION: The X-ray source 1 applies an X-ray to an examinee, such as a patient 4, to project an X-ray image 7 on an X-ray detector 5. The X-ray image 7 is subdivided into image regions A to I, and when the average gray value of the image regions directly shows the existence of a radioactive ray 2b, the image region having the highest brightness is first separated from the other image region by an approximation method and sequentially the image regions are done so in the order of lowering the brightness. Sequentially, at the end of operation by the approximation method, the remaining image region corresponds to the image of the region of interest. There is the region by a control device 6 for calculating the optimum radiation dose.
