METHOD FOR MAIL TRANSFER OF SETTING DATA AND COMMUNICATION EQUIPMENT THEREFOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transfer the setting data of a telephone directory or the like stored in communication equipment to exchanged communication equipment by a simple operation of an operator without using any special tool when the operator is to exchange the communication equipment for revision or the like in the communication equipment having a mail transmitting/receiving function. SOLUTION: Transmitted mail is received through: a mail preparation means 43 and a mail transmitting means 45 which set the setting data of the telephone directory or the like and transmit the resultant data as mail data of transmitted mail; and a mail receiving means 47. When the setting data of the telephone directory or the like are set to the mail data of received mail, the data are detected through a mail search means 49 and automatically stored in a first storage means (setting data file 51) as setting data on the basis of the setting propriety confirming operation detection of the operator using an input operation detecting means 50.
