Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical element having a high refractive index and an ultra-high accurate flat or aspherical surface shape and to provide a polymerizable composition for an optical element to obtain the same. SOLUTION: The polymerizable composition for the optical element is specified by containing (A) a compound represented by general formula (1) and (B) a compound having at least two polymerizable vinyl groups in one molecule (in the formula, R1 , X1 , X2 , and X3 are each a hydrogen atom or the like) and the optical element is specific in obtaining it by curing this composition and having the refractive index of >=1.60.
