Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wire saw enabling immediate recognition of generation of abnormal wear in annular grooves of working rollers and prevention of a working defective. SOLUTION: Many annular grooves 11a, 12a and 13a are formed at prescribed pitch on each of outer peripheries of the three working rollers 11, 12 and 13. A wire 14 is wound on the annular grooves 11a, 12a and 13a to stride among the working rollers 11, 12 and 13. Acoustic wave detecting devices 36 are arranged at positions opposed to the wire 14 at both end positions among the working rollers 11, 12 and 13. By the acoustic wave detecting devices 36, vibration of the wire 14 is detected via acoustic waves. When a vibration frequency is lower than a prescribed value fixed in advance due to the abnormal wear of the annular grooves 11a, 12a and 13a, an alarm is given, the device is stopped and the working defective is prevented.
