PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital camera that can provide images with the same extent of blurs as that of a camera of the 135 format. SOLUTION: A distance up to each position of a photographing object is detected and blur processing is applied to image data showing a photographed image, depending on the detected distance. The blur processing is performed by using a filter for increasing a blur circle diameter, by taking into account a ratio of a diagonal length of an image pickup element to a diagonal length of the 135 format film. The distance up to each position of the photographing object is detected at a sitting, by using a multiple focus method.
