Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To substantially decrease the frequency of movement of a scanner carriage and to shorten the scanning time, and then to improve the reliability of a system by making frictional wear less as a result of the reduction of the movement of the scanner carriage. SOLUTION: A method for scanning an object includes a step (59) for moving a 1st scanning line relatively to the object in a top to bottom scan direction, a step (61) for indexing a plurality of cross linear samplings forward in successive order, a step (65) for moving a 2nd scanning line relatively to the object in a bottom to top scan direction, and a step (67) for indexing a plurality of the cross linear samplings reversely in successive order.
